Growing just about anything in Texas can be a challenge due to the dry climate and violent swings in temperatures, along those same lines, attracting pollinators can be a trick.

Here is what I grow, how I grow it, how I attract friends, and the lessons I have learned along the way.

Gardening

The Garden Itself

The garden itself takes a few forms. Generally speaking we have our plants creatively spaced around the back porch, however during the winter it can get quite cold, which requires something of a temporary green house structure.

Pollinators & Hummies

If you are going to have flowers, you are going to need pollinators. Attracting bees and butterflies can be pretty simple if you put out tasty snacks and sips. You just have to know what they like.

As it turns out humming birds can also be a welcomed addition to any garden as they have a tendency to eat quite a few of the bugs that might otherwise upset your plants.
