Drones can be a little intimidating and an expensive hobby to break into. That said, nothing matches the thrill of flight, or the types of shots you can get from the sky.
Drones
Cinema Drones
Cinema drones are the easiest to get started with, in a very real sense, the will fly themself. They auto level, prevent you from flipping, and fly very intuitively if you have ever played with any RC car. You generally have up/down, forward/backward, left/right, and turn left/right.
In addition to easy of flight, cinema drones typically have better cameras and sometimes multiple cameras. You will generally be able to take both photo and video, and manipulate most settings you would see on a full mirror-less camera.
FPV Drones
If Cinema drones are the self driving Tesla, FPV’s are the full manual race car. If you get into FPV it is important to know it is not if you crash, so much as a when you crash. These drones do not self level, they do not limit what you can do, and the flight isn’t exactly intuitive. You fly by manipulating throttle, pitch, yaw, and role.
That said, not only are these great fun for the thrill of flight and racing, you can also get some pretty insane dive shots along rivers and mountains.
